2008 National Tournament

The NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions will occur on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex in Orlando, Florida. Winning teams from each age division at each NFL FLAG Regional Tournament will participate in the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions.  Hotel and airfare accommodations will be paid for by the NFL for one coach and five-ten players.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

The NFL will contact the head coach (as listed on the NFL FLAG Regional Tournament roster) from each winning team regarding travel arrangements for the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions.

Transportation

o The NFL will provide one round trip ticket to Orlando, Florida from the airport designated by the NFL (usually the airport closest to the traveling team) for each participant and head coach (as listed on the NFL FLAG Regional Tournament roster).

o The NFL will only provide airfare and transportation to participants and coaches traveling as a team using the transportation provided by the NFL.

o The NFL reserves the right to charter a bus for teams traveling to Orlando, if the ground travel time from their location to Orlando is less than five hours.

Ground Transportation (Airport)

o Teams arriving at Orlando International Airport will be transported to Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort using the Disney Magical Express Transportation Service (DME). The NFL and Disney will make your reservations on the DME for arrival and departure.

o The DME is a free service provided by Disney and is available to family and friends staying on Disney property. Family and friends are responsible for making their reservations with Disney to utilize this service.

Ground Transportation (Tournament)

o The NFL will provide bus transportation for teams participating in the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions to/from the hotel and Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex.

o Transportation will also be provided for family and friends staying at the Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort who wish to attend the tournament. Anyone wishing to utilize the bus transportation must submit a completed waiver to NFL staff at the designated bus loading area prior to boarding the bus. No one will be allowed to board the buses without submitting a signed waiver.

Team Hotel

o Each team will receive three rooms per night at the All-Star Sports Resort, located 1701 West Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

o There will be a limited number of rooms available within the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions room block for family and friends attending the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions.

Evening- welcome dinner

Sunday, November 23^rd

Teams depart Orlando

Participants are responsibile for bringing the following items to Nationals: 

o Sneakers/cleats (no metal spikes)

o Mouth guards

o Official NFL FLAG flag belts

o Footballs (for practice)
